The Planet under Pressure 2012 Carbon Offset Programme

The “Planet under Pressure” conference organisers recognise the importance of taking responsibility for greenhouse gases emitted as a result of international conferences. Our aim therefore is for the conference to be as close to carbon neutral as possible. To this end, the conference Carbon Offset Programme has been developed, based on all delegates contributing a carbon offset fee as part of the registration price. The Programme, developed with the assistance of Pep Canadell, Director of the Global Carbon Project (GCP) and other members of the Global Environmental Change programmes, will support carbon offset projects certified under high standards and that take aspects of both environmental and social sustainability into consideration.

The carbon offset fee is based on an average fee per person. It is a separate line item on the registration page because the carbon offset portion of the registration fee is not subject to VAT.
