Explanation of Link Symbols

In this website there are various types of link:

  • Internal links are the standard links that allow you to navigate around the site. These may be either navigational links from the navigation panel, or inline links within the page text.

  • External links are links to websites on other domains (i.e. links that will take you away from this website). Such links are marked with a External link and will open in a new window.

  • Links to email addresses are marked with a email link icon and will create a blank email addressed to the recipient.

  • File links are links to files that may require you to install additional software. The most common is a pdf link, marked with a pdf link. Pdf links will open a pdf in a new window. Most computers will open pdfs without the need to install extra software. Should you require, you can find Acrobat Reader for free from the Adobe website: www.adobe.com. Other file types will be explained in the text.
